What is Stucco?
Traditional portland cement stucco is a time-tested exterior finish. It consists of portland cement-based materials and sand mixed with water to form a workable plaster that hardens to provide a strong, durable, and tough surface. It provides resistance not only from the elements, but also attack from woodpeckers to weed whackers to grocery carts. That inherent toughness is beautifully complemented by the variety of colors and textures available. Whether it’s your business or your home, appearance is an important consideration in selecting a wall cladding. Given the popularity of drywall in this country, it is easy to forget that traditional plaster and 1 and 2 coat plaster systems for interior finishes have many advantages over standard drywall application.
Lasting Durability. Plaster retains its strength for decades and beyond.
Wear Resistance. Plaster is a strong surface and much harder than standard wallboard. It is not easily punched or gouged. Consequently, maintenance is low.
No Seams. When applied by trained craftsman on smooth, flat substrates, plaster surfaces do not exhibit the waviness and taped seams, which are so common with gypsum wallboard.
Water Resistance. Plaster Finish is an excellent finish wherever there are high moisture levels, including shower enclosures, bathrooms, locker rooms, laundry rooms and swimming pool dressing rooms.
